It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that John and I - the DaftNotStupid team - will not be attending the festival this year, for the first time in ten or so years.
Normally, today, we would be preparing for an early flight tomorrow. I would, of course, be totally ready. John would be sorting out all of his recording gear, CDs and DVDs from last year's festival to give to friends, and, round about 10 pm, his personal luggage.
We have seen the most amazing acts during our visits, particularly for the last three years when we were given press badges to record right below the stage, and we are very disappointed not to be part of this incredible festival. It was just not meant to be, this year.
So, a big hello to all our friends at the Villa des Orangers, L'Heure Bleu, Bab Lachour, and Chez Mustafa, our fellow press corps, plus all the friends we have made over the years, particularly the amazing Mr Robert Ray Wisdom and his wife.
We hope you enjoy the festival, and we hope to see you next year.
Much love and best wishes,
Maggie
P.S. I asked John to type this for me.
